About the Lecturer

Donny, your kind lecturer
I thank you for visiting my site. Before proceeding, I believe I should confess a truth about myself.
I am NOT an Olympiad winner of any kind.
The podium position in either Singapore, American, or International Olympiad in Mathematics or Physics is only something in my dreams. The furthest I went as when I represented my high school in the Singapore Physics Olympiad during which a general relativity question killed me.
That did not waver my pursuit in advancing my knowledge in the sciences, especially mathematics. This beautiful subject never fails to amaze me by how it can show its variety of forms - algebra, probability, calculus, or vectors, in everyday occurances. As for problem solving, for the questions which you get in Olympiads, its relevance on logical deduction in the human mind cannot be denied.
My drive to discover so much of the subject began in my high school life. I must say that the starting point was when my teacher took the limit and differentiated from first principles. Wow! I told myself and from that point on, everything I learnt became a quest which questioned the fabric of mathematics. With every concept I faced, I inspected every corner of it inside out to find out how every equation, principle, and constant fitted together to such perfection.

MIT - One day, just one day...
Much appreciation goes to my teachers who have made mathematics a joy to learn. I, in turn, would like to show you how much joy it is to learn the subject, the same joy I experienced, and am still experiencing, when I learnt it. It is a pity that many students degrade mathematics to a series of formula names and formalization. I wish to change that by giving my series of lectures an enthusiastic and exciting approach.
Back to my confession. Yes, again I say, I did not attend a single Mathematics Olympiad. But I do hope that you do not miss the chance. If you having that yearning to acquire problem solving kills in the field of mathematics, the time is now that you start training and conditioning your mind to solve such problems. Within this website, you will find all sorts of problems and skills which can get you there - it's also my way to share with anyone my love for the subject.
You only get to go through your high school once, a time when the Olympiad medal, one of those special ribbons you hang on the wall, is up for the taking. I don't want others to make the same mistake of me - passing on what could have been your greatest accomplishment in high school.
